Sensors

In the midst of a technology era, pipeline infrastructure is struggling to keep its head above water. There is a race to gather and maintain accurate information about the location and condition of subsurface assets in order to efficiently rehabilitate and expand the outdated system that we have far outgrown. A key ingredient in this process is the utilization of sensors and markers that can indicate the pipeline’s size, product it carries, when it was installed, the location of valves, etc. At Geospatial, we see this as a prime opportunity to tie in accurate 3D mapping with sensors and markers to establish a completely interactive system and knowledge base. When a pipeline is mapped in 3D and markers are utilized, this creates an incredibly streamlined process for locating and maintenance.

GIS Progress

We at Geospatial are making strong progress and proven results towards improving Geographic Information Systems for municipal, government, and facility management use. Our development of GIS as a Software-as-a-Service model is revolutionizing the industry which is almost exclusively “boxed software.” Our vision of complete underground maps offered entirely in a web-based environment is taking shape through GeoUnderground.

Additionally, our data acquisition technologies allow for the integration of accurate XYZ pipeline information to be integrated into these and other GIS. Geospatial Featured in Two Magazines

Geospatial recently added Ron Peterson to the team as Central Operations Manager based in Kansas City (Press Release).  His experience as the vice-president of TWS Services  and the Executive Director of the National Utility Locating Contractor’s Association (www.nulca.org) has helped Geospatial grow both in experience and geographically.  Ron is featured in the “Hero” segment of Damage Prevention magazine and wrote a column for Trenchless Technology magazine this month emphasizing how utility mapping can impact damage prevention to help save money and create safer job sites.  Links to these articles are below:
